A: Microsoft has announced end of product life for Windows 7 on January 14th of 2020, which means there will be no more enhancements or security updates. Since many of the application vendors we use for development have already stopped supporting Windows 7, the last version we will test on W7 will be the upcoming InSite SiteWork 19.2. Windows 8 machines were eligible for a free upgrade to Windows10 and we currently do not test on Windows 8.
It is our recommendation that users don’t wait until the last minute to update to Windows 10. While it is possible to update from W7 to W10, it is far better to do a fresh installation of W10 and re-install applications and data. This can take time and therefore a machine’s age and performance should be considered before this decision is made. In many cases, it may be more economical to purchase a new machine installed with Windows 10.

We have found that “Free Trials” force people to invest time and effort into learning a new system they generally know little about and have limited time to learn on their own. With tens of thousands of dollars on the line, these “free trials’ can end up costing your business lost wages and possibly losing a profitable job from inaccurate data.
So how am I going to know if InSite SiteWork is right for us?
While our website has a detailed overview, the next step is consultation with one of InSite’s professionals. During this conversation, we will:
• Make sure InSite SiteWork is a good fit for your needs.
• Explain how InSite SiteWork will save time, increase accuracy, and provide validation to prove the numbers.
• Demonstrate how to create GPS models for self-performing grading contractors.
• Discuss training, technical support, and pricing.
• Schedule a follow-up live demo where you can see the software in action and ask questions along the way.Still not convinced?
We recently spoke to a new InSite customer who spent a week evaluating a complicated job on a “free” evaluation copy of another earthwork product. After using the software for a week, he explained he didn’t have any confidence in his numbers and didn’t feel like the people who sold him the software were helpful. His “free” trial cost him time, money, and lost productivity.
